      Special Yoga Event at Mayfair West | Wednesday September 4th | Save the Date!

      We are planning a special Yoga event on our Tennis Courts this summer at Mayfair West with a special guest instructor Jana Webb – celebrity trainer to pro athletes from the NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL and MLS for a 90-minute workshop to learn JOGA. Joga is the revolutionary method that enhances performance, improves concentration, decreases recovery time and ultimately, can transform your fitness!       West Women’s Team Tennis Tryouts Are Coming Soon! 

      Registration is NOW open on the Mayfair app.

      • September 18th: Tryouts for the Women’s Premiere and “A” teams from 10:30am to 12:30pm.
      • September 19th: Tryouts for the Women’s “B” and “C” teams from 10:30am to 12:30pm.

      The fee for each tryout is $25.00 plus HST.

      If you played on the “B” team last year and are interested in trying out for the “A” team as well, you’re welcome to attend both sessions.

      Private Lesson Requests – September to June

      Lesson Requests – September to June

      For those looking to book a regular weekly private lesson from September to June, please fill out the form at https://forms.office.com/r/XHyknGDVB0.

      • Participants’ names (all names are required if requesting a semi-private or group lesson)
      • Coaching request (if you have a particular Coach with whom you’d like to have lessons)
      • At least one time slot that suits you (multiple time slot requests may be submitted)
      • We will do our best to accommodate all requests but cannot make any guarantees. Please note that we require 48 hours notice to cancel any lesson without charge.

      Tennis Summer Play Pass

      This is just a friendly reminder that the Summer Play Pass expires on Friday, September 6th.

      For those who have purchased the a 10-pack of private lessons and will not be able to complete them, please contact Ken Crosina at kcrosina@mayfairclubs.com to see if the package can be extended.

      Mayfair West Challenge Ladder

      The Men’s and Women’s Singles Ladders will resume on October 1st. Players will be placed in groups of 4, 5 or 6 based on tennis rating and past results. Based on monthly results, the ladder boxes will be reset for the following month. Prizes will be offered to the top 3 point-getters as well as participation awards for those who compete in all of their matches throughout the three-month session.

      The cost to join the ladder is $45 + HST; registration is free to those who played in the August ladder only.

      To register for October, please follow the directions below and sign up by September 30th at 11:59pm.

      • Step 2: Sign up for a new account
      • Step 3: Select your Provincial Tennis Association
      • Step 4: Accept the terms and condition
      • Step 5: Fill in your personal details
      • Step 6: Select “Recreational” membership type (free of cost), select “ON North York” as your region; from there you must choose “Mayfair West” as your club
      • Step 7: Create a login and password for the account
      • Step 8: Activate account using the email link

      From there, click on “Ladders” on the left side of your home page and search for “Mayfair West” to sign up.

      IMPORTANT: Mayfair has joined forces with Tennis Canada and the International Tennis Federation to be able to provide our members with a tennis rating system.  Our tennis ladders, inter-Mayfair leagues, Interclub league matches, friendly matches and more will be used to create your ITF World Tennis Number.  Your rating will be used to assist us in team selections, setting you up with other members for friendly games, registration for programs and so much more.  The ITF World Tennis Number rating system is used in over 135 Countries which will enhance your tennis experience if you travel too.

      We offer a variety of group tennis programming throughout the week for a variety of levels of play from beginner to advanced.       Mayfair West Starter Tour – Thanksgiving Long Weekend    

      On Thanksgiving Long Weekend, Mayfair West will be hosting a junior tournament for Mayfair members and junior program participants only. This tournament is ideal for players looking for more competitive experience. Here are the details:

      Saturday, October 12th at 9:30am-5:30pm

      • Boys & Girls Under 18 (players must be born in 2006, 2007, 2008 or 2009)
      • Entry Deadline: Mon. Oct. 7th at noon
      • Maximum 8 boys & 8 girls will be accepted based on date and time of entry
      • Cost: $65 + HST

      Sunday, October 13th at 9:30am-5:30pm

      • Boys & Girls Under 14 (players must be born in 2010, 2011, 2012 or 2013)

      NEW! Master’s Swim & Fitness Swim Classes

      Master Swim | Full Hour

      In this master’s class, the main focus is fitness, endurance, and efficiency. Swimmers must have a strong ability to perform front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke.  Instructors will create workouts that include drills, sprints, and hypoxic training.       Get Your Pickleball Rating

      All pickleball programs at Mayfair West require a pickleball rating.  If you have not been rated, please look on the Mayfair app for Pickleball Rating Clinics or contact Ken Crosina at kcrosina@mayfairclubs.com.  Once you have a rating you can register for any pickleball program at your rating or lower.

      Fall Programming & Court Availability

      For Fall, we’re introducing new programs and expanding our King/Queen of the Court offerings. If you have any suggestions for the schedule, please let Ken know at kcrosina@mayfairclubs.com.

      Courts 2A and 2B will remain available for booking throughout Fall and Winter, typically Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with some additional availability. This should give more players the chance to enjoy the game.

      Learn To Play Clinic – New Thursday Timeslots Added

      We’ve added a new Learn to Play clinic for the next two Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. Please register via the Motion Vibe app.

      Player Etiquette Reminders

      • Please use the correct entrances to the Pickleball Courts to avoid disrupting play:
        • For Court 1D, enter through the tennis hallway.
        • For Courts 2A and 2B, use the tennis hallway at Court 2.
        • For Courts 1A, 1B, and 1C, use the gym entrance.
      • Do not enter the court area until the second buzzer unless your court is empty.
      • If a ball from an adjacent court comes onto yours, please pick it up and gently tap it back when the other players are looking. Kicking or swatting it back is not considerate.
      • Remember to take your personal items and dispose of your trash in the bins provided.

      Program Registration

      We’ve requested that our app provider send reminder emails for your registered programs the night before, at 8 p.m.

      You can register for programs up to 6 days in advance starting at 9 a.m. Click the heart icon on a program to receive a registration reminder. Programs can fill up quickly, so don’t delay.

      You can cancel your registration on the app up to 24 hours before the program. Within 24 hours, please email Ken Crosina (kcrosina@mayfairclubs.com), and if there’s a waitlist, we will remove you at no charge. Please be considerate of other members.

      Pickleball Membership Waitlist

      Finally, regarding the pickleball initiation fee, there will be no Fall special. We expect to move to a waitlist system soon due to growing interest in pickleball.

      Mayfair West Junior Pickleball – Fall 2024

      From September to December, we offer small-group training for kids between the ages 8-11 and 11-14 at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels of play. Our program will run for 14 weeks from September 7th to December 14th.

      • Tuesdays 4:30pm to 5:30pm (ages 8 to 11)
      • Tuesdays 5:30pm to 6:30pm (ages 11 to 14)
      • Thursdays 4:30pm to 5:30pm (ages 8 to 11)
      • Thursdays 5:30pm to 6:30pm (Ages 11 to 14)
      • Saturdays 12:30pm to 1:30pm (ages 8 to 11)

      Our certified instructors will provide customized coaching to help juniors & elite players sharpen their skills and build a solid foundation for technique & form. Each camp will be customized to the level of players.
